Built4Care is a multi-care project in the town of Bad Bremerburg. The concept is one where childrens' care centres are equipped with a play environment where only reused and recycled materials are used. Timber and wood come from local factories and buildings that have closed down. The protective materials are similarly sourced from waste and byproducts from local industry. In this way, the project is ensuring care for the children, care of the environment, care for the local community and care for the local economy.
Experience over the last 5 years has shown that the project centres have attracted more local and community interest than previously thought likely. Local citizens ensure that the play centres are maintained and that they remain safe for play. The centres have attracted many volunteers and helpers far beyond the level expected at the inception of the project. Local industry too has proved to be a dynamic supporter in the form of new materials and systems.
